We put together a Q&A with Piotr to help you get to know him better.

Tell us a bit of your background, and what led you to join VAPAR?

I’ve been working as a software developer for around 10 years now. What really drives me in this field is solving real-world problems and creating solutions that make a difference. I hold both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in computer science, and throughout my career, I’ve always looked for opportunities to work on projects that combine technical challenge with meaningful impact. That’s what attracted me to VAPAR — the chance to use technology to improve essential infrastructure in a smart, innovative way.

What first got you interested in software engineering?

Back in school, I naturally gravitated toward STEM subjects — I enjoyed the logical thinking and creativity involved in solving complex problems. Programming felt like a perfect mix of both. I loved that you could take an idea, write some code, and suddenly have something useful come to life on the screen. That sense of building something from scratch and continuously improving it has kept me hooked ever since.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Outside of work, I try to keep active and balanced. I play tennis once a week, go to the gym a few times, and spend as much time as I can outdoors with my family — whether that’s walking, cycling, or just exploring new places together. I also enjoy playing board games, especially chess, as they’re a fun way to stay mentally sharp and competitive. On top of that, I love to travel and have been lucky enough to visit a few countries across Europe, Asia, and Oceania. Japan is high on my list for my next adventure, and I’d also like to explore more of the Americas in the future.

If you could automate one everyday task, what would it be?

If I could automate one everyday task, it would definitely be preparing breakfast. In my family, I’m the one responsible for making breakfast each morning — and it’s not always easy to satisfy everyone, especially the kids! Automating it would make sure breakfast is always healthy, tasty, and ready right on time. It would be the perfect way to start the day with a little less morning chaos.
